This ministry  was initiated at St. Andrew’s Ladies Guild in June 2000 for the purpose of meeting the spiritual needs of the residents of the center.

Under the leadership of Deacon Bob Beaumont, volunteers of the Guild provide a Lector, two Extraordinary Ministers of  Holy Communion and two wheel chair transporters for the 10:00 a.m. Mass at the center every Thursday.

Mass is held in the cafeteria.  After mass the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take Communion to the bed bound residents while the transporters return the residents to their room.

To be a transporter, a volunteer must be physically able to push a wheel chair.  Volunteers are scheduled only once a month although they may come more often if they like.  The coordinator provides a schedule for volunteer assignments at the center.  The coordinator or an assistant will always be at the center to help new volunteers learn the routine.

Any parishioner may volunteer for this ministry.  You do not have to be a Guild member.  To participate in this ministry leave your name and phone number and the name of this ministry at the rectory.
