Adoration

St. Andrew offers Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the first Thursday of the month beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 8:00 pm. Adorers are scheduled each hour and at least two adorers are needed at each hour the Eucharist is exposed.

Anyone can commit to an hour. All that is asked is to spend time in silence once a month with Jesus. Any type of prayer can be used or scriptural or inspirational reading can be done during this time.

Benefits to parishes with Eucharist Adoration include:

* Increased Mass attendance and Confessions
* Increase in priestly and religious vocations
* The return of fallen-away Catholics and conversions to the faith
* Heightened spirituality
* Marriages restored
* Greater unity
* Inner peace

To sign up for an hour please contact the parish office at 504-393-2334, and the information will be given to our head coordinator, Kathy Frisch.

If we are willing only to do what is ordinary
Then we can only expect God’s ordinary blessings
Only when we are willing to do the extraordinary
Are we guaranteed of obtaining God’s extraordinary blessings
Perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Is absolutely the extraordinary effort
That god is asking for today in order that
He may bestow upon mankind His extraordinary blessings
When we are willing to do on earth
What is done in heaven, ie adore God perpetually
Then God will create a “new heaven” and a “new earth.”
