Troops of St George
St Andrew the Apostle Church is starting a new ministry, the Troops of St George, the Catholic version of the Boy Scouts. The Troops of St George is designed for boys in the 1st Grade through senior year in high school. This is a Catholic ministry for young men and their dads looking for a life of adventure coupled with virtue. It uses the outdoors as a game with a purpose. The game – to go camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and other adventures; to learn how to cook, tie knots, first aid, and other life skills. The purpose is to grow one’s faith, deepen one’s relationship with Christ, nurture the father/son relationship, build strong virtuous leaders, and to teach citizenship.
If you and your son would like to join us on many different adventures, please contact the parish office at 504-393-2334.
