Deacons
Deacon James Clyde Ardoin (preferred Clyde) was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, and graduated from Sacred Heart of Ville Platte. He earned a B.B.A.degree with honors from Loyola University, New Orleans, Louisiana, and has worked in the shipyard business for over 30 years. He is currently working as Controller for T. T. Management, LLC, a group engaged in the cleaning and repair of barges.
Deacon Clyde was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in 2006 and is assigned to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. He also has an Archdiocesan assignment at Oschner-Westbank.
Deacon Clyde has been married to Gertrude Chenevert Ardoin (preferred Trudy) for 39 years and has two sons, Adrien Paul Ardoin of Durham, North Carolina, and Andrew Michael Ardoin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and two grandchildren. Clyde and Trudy have lived on the Westbank of New Orleans (Algiers) for 35 years.
Deacon John Walker, IV was born and raised in Westwego, Louisiana. He graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School and from Delgado Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has been a member of Holy Guardian Angels, St. Cletus, and St. Andrew Parishes.
Deacon John was ordained on December 13, 2008, as a permanent deacon. He has served at Bridge City Correctional Institute and Rivarde Juvenile Center with the Prison Ministry for the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Deacon John has been married to Bernadette S. Walker for 28 years. They have two children, John, V, and Kathleen, and three grandchildren John, VI, Jake and Landen.
