Over 80 second graders in our parish are currently working towards receiving the Body and Blood of Christ at their First Eucharist Celebration. They have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and are now completing their “First Eucharist “booklets that are due on March 31st. A First Eucharist Retreat will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. During this retreat the children will experience several hours of prayer, bread baking, videos, discussions, etc. The First Eucharist Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 10:00a.m.
Approximately 70 high school students from our parish are preparing to take another step on their journey of faith. They are attending classes so they can complete their initiation through the Sacrament of Confirmation in the fall. Their class work involves learning more about the Sacraments of Initiation, the role of the Holy Spirit in their life, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the signs and symbols of the Roman Catholic Church, and how to pray and reflect.
Please keep all of our candidates in your prayers as these are very important times in their lives as growing members of our Catholic faith.
