MEN’S CLUB MEETING AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING

Oct 18th, 2011 | By Kathie | Category: Parish News

There will be a Men’s Club Meeting on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria.  All men of the parish 18 years and older are invited to attend.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING - Anyone who works with children in any way – school, parish, scouts, CYO – must have Safe Environment training.  There is an updated version of the training as of 2013.  If you have not attended a training class  this year, you must attend one to be able to work with children at St. Andrew.  A class will be held here at St. Andrew on Thursday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Another class will be scheduled in August (date to be determined).  There are also dates offered at other locations in the Archdiocese.  For a list of all dates and locations you can go to archno.org and look under Safe Environment.  For further information or questions, you can contact Mary Ann Dallam at the rectory at 393-2334.

CHANGE IN FOOD COLLECTION LOCATIONThe Community Action Committee is changing the location for the placement of food items donated to the Algiers food bank.  We will be constructing a permanent built-in cabinet along the wall in the vestibule to hold the donated food items until they are brought to the United Churches of Algiers food bank.  In the meantime, please place all food items on the lower section of the cabinet located on the left side of the vestibule as you enter the church.  We thank you as always for your generous donations of food for the needy and ask for your continued support of this important ministry to serve the poor and needy of our area.

The Parish Mass Book for the 2013 year is open. Parishioners who wish to have masses said for their loved ones may come to the rectory. Masses will be honored on a first come first serve basis. Only one intention may be taken for masses except for the 4:30 Saturday Vigil Mass and the 11:00 Sunday Mass. The donation is $5.00 per mass, per intention. Requests for the Sanctuary Candle will also be taken. The donation for the Candle is $10.00.
