DIVERSITY MINISTRY
Feb 3rd, 2010 | By Kathie | Category: Parish SpotlightIn response to Archbishop Hughes’ call for Racial Harmony, St. Andrew the Apostle’s Parish Council created a Diversity Ministry. The purpose of the ministry is to bring all people of faith together to begin the process of understanding that we are all children of God and to create a parish inclusive of all races, cultures, ages and disabilities. This ministry, comprised of various volunteers throughout the parish, selected various months in which to highlight the vast cultural diversity that we share here at St. Andrew. We recently celebrated our diverse Hispanic culture centered around Our Lady of Guadalupe. In the spring, we will be highlighting our rich Asian culture. On January 31, we celebrated our diverse African American Culture centered around St. Peter Claver, Patron Saint of African Americans.
