SACRED SCRIPTURE CLASSES/ CONFIRMATION CLASSES

“The Prophets of the 8th Century B.C.: Eccentric, Irrelevant and Obsolete, or the Voice of God Today?” is the theme of the current Sacred Scripture course being held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM and Thursday mornings at 9:30 AM. Classes begin on January 25th and 26th and will continue through March 7th and 8th. For more information please contact the Religious Education Center at 393-0140.

Confirmation – There will be a meeting for the parents of all young people of our parish in the 10th grade or above who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the fall of 2012. Please come to the cafeteria on February 7th, 2012, at 7:00 PM and bring a copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate and the $40.00 fee which covers the cost of the class materials and the retreat in the fall.

First Holy Communion – On Thursday, February 9th, at 7:00 PM, all parents and their children who are receiving their First Holy Communion this year should gather in church for a short prayer service and meeting. The parents will receive the books that will help them to prepare their children for the reception of this most Blessed Sacrament and additional information about the retreat for the children and the day of the First Communion Mass.

Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults - Adults interested in becoming Catholic are prepared for baptism through the RCIA process. If someone you know is interested in becoming a Catholic or learning more about what the Catholic faith teaches, please contact the Religious Education Office at 393-0140 or the Rectory at 393-2334.

CONFIRMATION 2011 – Classes have begun

Students entering the 11th grade in the fall of 2011 who have attended the Parish School of Religion or a Catholic High School for 9th and 10th grade are eligible to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. Confirmation classes have begun. For further information regarding this sacrament, please call the Religious Ed Office at 393-0140 between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

FIRST RECONCILIATION PARENT MEETING – Nov 9

CONFIRMATION – OCTOBER 13th

On Wednesday, October 13th, over fifty of our parish youth received the sacrament of Confirmation. Bishop Carmen celebrated mass and a reception hosted by SANYO followed. Pictures can be found under the Photos tab on the home page of this website. Congratulations to all!!

CONFIRMATION RETREAT – OCT 2

All students preparing to receive Confirmation on October 13, 2010, must attend the Confirmation Retreat scheduled for October 3, 2010 beginning at 9:00 AM in the Tower/Gym.

CONFIRMATION INTERVIEWS

Confirmation interviews will be held during the month of June. Information on these interviews will be mailed out to the candidates. Please contact the Religious Education office if you have any questions. The Religious Education office will be closed during the month of July.

FIRST COMMUNION

Over fifty children from our parish will be receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time on Saturday, April 24th, at 10:00 am in the church. Please keep our children in your prayers!

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION – 2010

Students entering the 11th grade in the fall of 2010 who have attended the Parish School of Religion or a Catholic High School for 9th and 10th grade are eligible to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. There will be an informational meeting for candidates and their parents on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. At this meeting you will be given an overview of the Confirmation Program and the requirements. Registration will not be accepted without a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate. The fee is $40.00 perstudent. For further information please call the Religious Ed Office at 393-0140 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

SCRIPTURE STUDY – JAN 13 & 14

St. Andrew will continue the Study in the Footprints of God series with the lesson entitled Mary, Mother of God. The study will begin on January 13 at 7:30 pm in the church and January 14 at 9:30 am in the SANYO building. The questions have been revised so they are more manageable each week. The cost will be $8.00 and pre-registration is requested. Please call Religious Ed or the rectory to register.

ADVENT MISSION – NOV 30 & DEC 1

Let us all join together to enter the season of Advent by attending the Advent Mission on Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1, at 7:00 PM in the church. The theme of the mission this year is “A Season of Hope and Anticipation” and will be given by Deacon Johnny Walker. Priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday, December 1.
